Is this legally valid for EU AI Act compliance?
Our disclosures are based on the official text of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (EU AI Act) Article 50, the Draft Guidelines, and the Code of Practice on AI-generated content. However, this tool is not a law firm — we recommend having your legal counsel review the generated disclosure for your specific circumstances. We include a legal disclaimer in every disclosure.
When is the EU AI Act deadline?
Article 50 transparency obligations apply from 2 August 2026 for new AI systems. Systems already on the market before that date have until 2 December 2026 for the machine-readable marking requirement (Article 50(2)). We recommend acting now.
Who needs to comply with Article 50?
Any provider or deployer of AI systems in the four situations Article 50 covers: AI that interacts with people, AI that generates synthetic content, emotion recognition/biometric categorization, and deepfakes/public-interest AI text. This applies to most businesses using chatbots, content generators, recommendation engines, and similar AI.
